We would like to announce that next week, the website will be offline for a few days while we launch a totally renewed website of the New Order of Druids.
The downtime will likely take place somewhere between Sunday, March 14 and Friday, March 19.
During that time, it will not be possible to access the main NOD website and the Circle Forums. Other parts of our website will continue to be accessible, such as the College for BYC students and upgraded members. The IRC chatroom will also still continue to work at irc.druidcircle.net (for those who have an IRC client).
IMPORTANT:
If you are an upgraded member, you will be receiving an email that your upgrade has "expired". This is because of the migration of the user database and subscriptions to a new website, where your upgrade will be reactivated for you. So you don't need to worry, your upgrade will not really have expired and there is nothing in particular you have to do, you can simply ignore that expiration email.
On November 23, our website became the target of attacks by Turkish extremists who hacked our site to pieces and returned to do the same thing from the moment we recovered on that same day.
As a result, our website was offline for over a week, as you may have noticed, while we worked as fast as possible to put everything back online in a more secure environment. As you can see, the website is now online again as of December 2, and most errors should have been smoothed out.
Unfortunately we were unable to restore the most recent backups of our website (as they too were damaged), and we had no choice but to revert to an older backup dating from November 8. Please read the following carefully.
Everything on our website that was done between November 8 and December 2 is irretrievably lost! This implicates the following:
* If you registered an account on our site within that time period, you will find it no longer exists. Please re-register your account entirely.
* Changes you may have made to your account during that time will be undone. Please keep this in mind and make the changes again if necessary.
* Any posts on the forums during that timeframe are lost.
* Any college assignments you have uploaded in that timeframe are no longer there. Please upload them again. Any assignments that might have been graded during that time are no longer graded and will have to be graded again by your mentor.
* Anything else you may have done on the site during that timeframe will also be lost.
We apologize for the inconvenience all this may cause you and hope you will still return to our website regardless. If you experience any problems on the website still, or suspect that it may have been hacked again, please do not hesitate to contact us.
The main administration of the New Order of Druids will be on vacation from Wednesday September 16 until Thursday October 1.
During this time, we will not be available for member administration questions, issues, or manual upgrades of paid membership.
If you wish to upgrade your membership during this time, you are welcome to do so but please be aware that your upgraded access will not be instant. It will be activated upon our return from vacation, and therefore your upgraded term (1 year or 2 years) will start counting from the day of manual activation, so that you do not lose a single day of your upgrade period.
If you have any general questions for membership administration or webmaster, please post it in the forums so that perhaps another Council member might be of assistance during this time.
